Westdale Athletic Hall of Fame
Purpose
Purpose
To honour selected Westdale athletes, coaches and community contributors
To re-establish ties with former Westdale athletes
To maintain camaraderie of those associated with the Westdale Athletic program
To elicit continued identity and support the Westdale Athletic program
Criteria for inductees
Athletes: Westdale student, preferable attended Westdale for a semester to a year. Athlete must make an outstanding contribution to their sport(s), in high school or post secondary. He or she must be a positive role model. (Can be revoked for ethical reasons) This student must have been removed from school for a minimum of 5 years.
Coaches: Retired from Coaching at Westdale for a minimum of two years Contributed greatly to his/her sport for a minimum of five years.
Contributors, “Friends of Westdale”: Honor those who do not fall under the coaches or athletic category but who have made significant contributions to the Westdale Athletics Program and sever as a positive inspiring to young adults and others in the community (Athlete, donator, “Friends of Westdale”) Hall of fame members can be removed for indiscretions that no longer make them viewed as positive role models in the community.

Members of the Committee:
Both the Girls and Boys Phys-ed Heads
1 Teacher-Coach that has been in the school for longer than 5 years
1 Community Member (can be a teacher who lives in the community or a parent if possible)
3 Alumni Students (if possible)
1-2 Current students (WAC presidents if possible)(Member can only wear one hat)
Nomination Forms:The nomination form should include the year of graduation, the sport(s) played/sports coached/contribution made, and a list of the outstanding contributions made to his or her sport(s). The name of the person making the nomination and the date of the submission will also be required. Nomination can stand for up to 5 years and be revisited every year if applicable.Maximum of 5 winners will be chosen per year. (First year 8-10)Nominations need to be made by September 10th.The availability of the nominee will be taken into consideration when planning the annual event.
